King Township doesn’t look like the rest of the GTA. Most of it sits on the rolling hills of the Oak Ridges Moraine, the township is known for its horse and cattle farms, and the bulk of its residents live in three villages: King City, Nobleton and Schomberg. The equipment that keeps a King property running is different too, and so is the way it wears out.

On a King estate or farm, the same tractor, skid steer, pickup and trailer often do a bit of everything: clearing the lane after a storm, moving hay and bedding, hauling fill, towing a horse trailer. They share the same problem every winter. Salt from King Road, Highway 27 and the regional roads rides back up the driveway on every tire, and it sits in frames and seams until spring.

We’re a mobile service with no shop, so we come to the property instead of asking you to bring equipment to us. Ontario Equipment Services handles oil spraying and rustproofing, power washing, cab cleaning, seat upholstery and greasing on site, and we’ve been servicing the GTA and beyond for more than five years.

Local conditions

Moraine hills, horse country and salted rural roads

The Oak Ridges Moraine shapes almost everything in King. King City sits on its southern slope, Nobleton lies just south of it and Schomberg just north, and the hills in between mean rolling sideroads, hilly lanes and a lot of meltwater moving downhill during freeze-thaw. That water carries salt and grit into low spots, and equipment parked or working there sits in it.

King is predominantly rural, and many horse farms sit on the eastern edge of Nobleton. Farm and estate equipment here deals with manure, wet bedding, mud and road salt, all of which hold moisture against steel. Horse trailers and livestock trailers are especially exposed, because their frames, hitches and wiring spend the winter parked outside and the rest of the year on salted or muddy roads.

The main roads carry plenty of salt too. Highway 400 runs past the western edge of King City, with an exit at King Road. Highway 27 runs north through Nobleton, Highway 9 serves Schomberg, and Keele Street, Dufferin Street, Jane Street and Bathurst Street run north and south through or along the township. All of them are salted through the winter, and the brine ends up on every pickup, dump truck and trailer that uses them.

Construction is part of the picture as well. Housing growth in Nobleton, building on rural lots and ongoing road work keep excavators, loaders, mini excavators and dump trucks moving around the township, often on sites that turn to mud every thaw. In King’s northeast corner, the township also reaches into the Holland Marsh around Ansnorveldt, where vegetable farms work the marsh’s fertile organic soil.

What we do for King Township equipment owners

  • Oil Spraying & Rustproofing

Rustproofing in King City and across the township covers everything from a farm tractor to the family SUV. Our dripless amber oil goes into frames, welds, seams, hitches, brake and fuel lines and wiring, and you can see the barrier when we’re finished. Dripless black is available on request. Because it stays where it’s sprayed, it won’t run onto an interlock driveway, a barn floor or a stable yard. We also rustproof snow plow and salter trucks.

  • Power Washing

Equipment washing in Nobleton, Schomberg or anywhere else in King happens on your property. We power wash tracks, undercarriages, frames, bodies, decks and trailer floors to strip off mud, manure and salt brine, so the oil spray lands on clean metal. Trailers that spent the winter on salted roads get the same attention underneath. For estate owners, that means the skid steer or tractor gets cleaned without ever leaving the barn area.

  • Cab Cleaning

Tractor and loader cabs on King farms collect dust, hay, mud and salt slush, often all in the same week. We clean floors, mats, seats, controls, joysticks, the dash and the glass inside and out, on equipment, trucks and passenger vehicles. It’s a simple way to keep a machine you climb into every day comfortable and easy to see out of.

  • Seat Upholstery

Seats on older tractors, utility equipment and pickups crack and split with age and sun. We repair tears and split seams and re-cover worn seats in fabric or vinyl, right at your King Township property. That goes for tractors, compact equipment, farm trucks and the family vehicle alike. A sound seat keeps water out of the foam and keeps a well-kept machine looking the way you’ve kept it.

  • Greasing

Loader arms, buckets, hitches, pins, bushings and pivot points on estate and farm equipment need regular grease, especially after a muddy spring. Fresh grease pushes out the water and grit that work into those joints over a wet season. We grease to the manufacturer’s grease points and intervals, and we can do it on the same visit as washing and oil spraying, so the equipment is only out of action once.

Timing

Seasonal timing for King farms and estates

Fall is the best time to oil spray. On King properties, that lines up well with putting the place to bed for winter: the mowing and fieldwork wind down, the snow equipment comes out, and everything that will see salt can be treated before it does.

It’s never too late, though. If your plow truck or tractor is already clearing the lane in January, it’s still a good time to spray. Any protection before the next round of salt and freeze-thaw helps, and there’s usually plenty of winter left after the first snowfall.

Spring is when the moraine shows its mud. Once the salt season ends, usually by April, a full power wash gets brine and mud off frames and undercarriages. It’s the right time for greasing and a look at where the oil film needs a top-up before the summer work starts.

Why mobile

Why King Township crews choose a mobile service

  • We come up the lane

No shop and no hauling. We service equipment where it’s kept, whether that’s a barn, a machine shed or a job site.

  • Less disruption on the property

One visit can cover washing, oil spraying, greasing, cab cleaning and seat repair, so your equipment is out of action once instead of several times.

  • Dripless and environmentally safe

Our environmentally safe oil stays where it’s sprayed, which matters around barns, paddocks and pasture.

  • You can see the coverage

Dripless amber oil shows exactly where the protective barrier is. If you’d rather keep a dark finish on a frame or trailer, we offer dripless black.

  • Farm, fleet and family vehicles alike

From a horse trailer to a dump truck to the family minivan, we can protect everything on the property in one trip.

Yes. We oil spray tractors, skid steers, pickups and horse or livestock trailers right on the farm. The oil is dripless and environmentally safe, so it stays on the equipment rather than running onto the yard.

We do. We power wash equipment, trucks and trailers at your property in Nobleton, Schomberg and the rest of the township. Washing first is the right prep before oil spraying, and both can be done on one visit.

No. Our oil spray is dripless, so it stays where it’s sprayed instead of running off onto your driveway, yard or barn floor.

We serve all of it. King City is about 30 km from our Mount Albert base, and we travel out to Nobleton, Schomberg, Kettleby, Ansnorveldt and the rural hamlets too.
